Greg & Mindy met "online" in 2004. After months of exchanging pictures, chatting online, and meeting her family and friends via webcam, I decided to travel to China to meet Mindy in person. What an experience! After an enduring day in Guangzhou at the US Embassy obtaining the needed documentation, we were married two days later.
Since then I've been to China twice and look forward to every trip. It's a beautiful country with wonderful people. If you have ever given thought to travelling to southeast Asia, you will NOT be disappointed. I have recently learned that I can obtain a Chinese Amateur Radio License, although their rules prohibit me from operating except from a "club station." We now have land in China and look forward to building our summer/vacation/retirement home in the mountains. By the time we complete construction of our home, I hope that the rules will allow me to operate independently from our new home in the BG7 call area!
Mindy speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese, along with a dozen more dialects thereof. With the help of Rosetta Stone and my wife, I too hope to be fluent in the language.
