Echolink Node 82001
On January 31, 2009, Echolink Node 82001 was brought online. Thanks to Scott, W7WRO, for lending a well-needed extra hand in getting the audio levels correctly set.
At the present time, no additional access codes are needed to use the node. Strictly enter the node number, wait for the connection announcement, and carry on your conversation. To disconnect enter a single " # " or two " ## " to disconnect all connected nodes.
In the future, an access code will be needed to use the Echolink node. The access code will merely be a macro code that will do the following in sequence:
- Disable DTMF muting on the 145.235 repeater.
- Shorten the squelch tail of the repeater to make the Echolink node more responsive and function more effectively.
- Disable the voice identifier and announcements on the 145.235 repeater.
- Enable a CW ID of N7GT/R, at the rate of 20WPM.
- Disable the current courtesy tone and replace it with three rapid "beeps", signifying to users that someone is currently connected to an Echolink node.
At the completion, the standard " # " will be used to disconnect the node and will execute another macro command to reverse all of the settings above.
