ARRL Volunteer Examiner (VE)

The Capital City VE Team conducts VE Testing on the first Saturday of every other month, beginning February 2010. Contact Greg, N7GT, via email at n7gt@hotmail.com for more information. The VE Team currently consists of 16 examiners; 14 Extra Class, 1 Advanced Class and 1 General Class.
We would like to extend our deep appreciation and thanks to LCCC for sponsoring our VE Test Sessions. They have generously donated a classroom for our sessions. Thanks to LCCC for their support in this community event!

2010 Test Fee = $15.00 (cash or check) If you fail an element and wish to retake it, an additional test fee will be charged.

Candidates are responsible for bringing their own calculators. For testing integrity, calculators on cellphones will not be permitted!
Please remember to bring both the original as well as a photocopy of your current CSCE as well as a photocopy of your current Amateur Radio License.


The VE program consists of licensed Amateur Radio Operators that have been certified to provide Amateur Radio License testing within the community. All VE's maintain the integrity of the Volunteer Examiner Program consistent with the rules and guidelines established by the ARRL and the FCC.
To qualify to be a Volunteer Examiner you must:
- be 18 years or older; and
- never have had your amateur station or operator licenses suspended or revoked; and
- hold a valid General, Advanced or Extra Class license (see FCC Rule 97.509)
